VOLUNTEER WITH US

Volunteering for Label Store not only can you gain new skills, confidence and experiences throughout your volunteering journey but you will also make a difference to the charity we support.  Label Store has grown from a one-man band to now needing a diverse team of volunteers to help push the store to the next level.   By helping Label Store to grow, some volunteers may be able to move forward into paid roles.  By giving just a small amount of time to volunteering you can make a BIG difference, by helping us to support the build of Negril, Jamaica's first inclusive veterinary, grooming and hydrotherapy centre primarily for street animals and those pet owners on low income or no income.  

STOCK PROCESSING

Volunteering as a Stock Processor gives you the opportunity to be hands-on with the stock that is donated to us by our partners. You will get a first look at the products coming into Label Store and process them to go on our online store.

We would like to recruit two (2) or three (3) volunteers in this role who are possibly able to give between 5-10 hours a week in their role.

The tasks, responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to;

  • De-labeling where necessary by removing the retailers’ details and adding a Label Store tag and price.
  • Steaming garments where necessary.
  • Hanging clothes and quality checking stock to ensure it is ready for sale.
  • Separating items that can be repaired by our trusted tailor.
  • Organising the rails.
  • Keeping the area tidy

WHATSAPP CHAT & SALES

Many of our customers now love to send us their stock enquiries by whatsapp.   We require a volunteer develop this into a sales avenue which is actually quite simple once you start to engage the customer and they see images of stock they are interested in.  This can be further developed by showing customers what may go well with a skirt or a top for example and putting outfits together.

PROCESSING STOCK ONLINE

Volunteering as a Product Lister with the online team is an exciting opportunity that will allow you to support the e-commerce retail side of the business. You will have the chance to use different skills regularly and will be encouraged to learn about the operation and how it supports the work that Safe Paws Negril is striving towards.  There are continuous development opportunities to ensure that you grow and develop 
within your volunteer role. The tasks, responsibilities and requirements include but are not limited to –

  • Selecting products and records and listing them on our e-commerce stores, eBay shop, Tiktok shop and online store.
  • You will need to have great attention to detail and be confident using a computer.
  • You will be required to learn about our online store.
  • Be open to training to develop skill set in this area.
  • Taking images of our eBay shop clothing to list. 

TIKTOK SHOP ASSISTANTS

Label Store is gearing towards a regular Tiktok shop spot.   Once we decide on regular days/times, we want volunteers to help behind the scenes.

  • monitoring comments.
  • Pinning items.
  • Looking for garments requested by customers on our live.
